The Intercom

You are sitting comfortably in your log cabin at the end of the garden watching the rain stream down the window blissfully unaware that your dinner is ready but no one wants to get wet walking down the garden to let you know…

For a while we resorted to using text messages. Unfortunately, if I forgot my phone or the text did not get through, my dinner got cold….

To fix this I build my intercom using some loaned Cisco phones running the Asterisk PBX on a Raspberry Pi B. I installed RasPBX and then went through the painful procedure of understanding how Cisco XML files work. Fortunately there is a load of information out there on the internet.
