Our little blue tits are being well fed by their parents, as you can see from the forest of beaks in the video. No doubt they’ll be growing up and flying out into the wide world within a few months[…]

Amazing news! Mavis’ chicks have hatched from their eggs, and she is working with Martin to feed and take care of them. We estimate there are about 4 chicks in the birdbox and we hope they fledge successfully soon.

Mavis has been spending more time inside the birdbox under the eggs. We can deduce that she’s now in “incubation mode”, keeping the eggs warm for when they hopefully hatch later on this year. We’ve also seen her partner Martin[…]

This morning, we noticed that our blue tit couple (which we have named Mavis and Martin) have laid their first egg overnight! This is definitely a great sign of things to come.

As you can see, the blue tit has been hard at work building the nest. It’s grown so much since last time! We’re definitely on track to seeing some eggs being laid sometime soon…
