Some interesting behaviour was spotted today. It appears the blue tit is pecking the round screw inlet of its birdbox. We’re sure it’s structurally sound, however.

Our resident blue tit got a little up close and personal with the camera setup in its nest. We’re not sure if it took kindly to being under 24 hour surveillance by humans but the lens seems fine.

The nest is growing day by day. Sometimes the blue tit gets quite “stuck in” to its handiwork!

Finally there is proof this is a nesting pair of blue tits. The video only includes a brief moment when they are both in the box.

It looks like our blue tit has has made it comfy enough to stay the night as she is currently roosting in the box.

A pair of blue tits have visited the box a few times in the last couple of weeks and made a start at building a nest. We hope for their success although it’s early days so anything could go wrong.
