Early birds

After checking last year’s dates, I can see our blue tits are running three weeks earlier this year. I also calculate they are only a week away from fledging. So watch carefully in the next few days. My discovery also coincides with this article from the BBC.

If you have been watching, you will see how much they have grown and are now very cute fluff balls (or more accurately feather balls). The parents are still very busy feeding them, sometimes large meals as you can see in the video below.

Although they are hard to count, I’m fairly sure there are now 6 which is very good going from an initial clutch of 8. Hopefully, as they are now fairly grown, all of these will fledge.
